原曲はアイルランドの作曲家「ジェームス・L．モロイ」の作曲による「Love's Old Sweet Song」で日本では「なつかしき愛の歌」として知られており、1952年（昭和27年）にコロンビアレコードから藤山一郎の歌でレコード発売されています。
